WiPDA-Asia 2027
Message from the Chair
Why WiPDA-Asia 2027 is held in Kyoto, and what it sets out to do.
The 7th IEEE-PELS Workshop on Wide Bandgap Power Devices and Applications in Asia (WiPDA-Asia 2027) is scheduled to take place in Kyoto, Japan, August 22-25, 2027.
This edition, the first running under a dedicated Steering Committee for Asia, will be structured around three main topics: Devices, Packaging and Applications. And it will aim to have a balanced mix of representation, participation and contributions from Academia and Industry.
Kyoto is home to some of the very pioneers of WBG power semiconductors, now world-renowned and highly acclaimed scientists and engineers, who have been and still are contributing to set a high-impact legacy on making the technology increasingly usable. As a Kyoto-jin by adoption, I am truly honored and happy to be part of and share the organization of this Workshop with a large group of passionate researchers, engineers and academics, who had the privilege to meet, work and be directly influenced by them. We want to make the Workshop a testament of our great esteem, admiration and gratitude.
I wish to thank IEEE and PELS for this opportunity and for their support. Our excellent Keynote and Tutorials Chairs have secured truly outstanding speakers from around the globe, with contributions of sure interest to young and more experienced specialists alike. We are now looking forward to receiving your latest research results!
Let us meet in beautiful Kyoto next Summer to share three days of intense learning and discussions about WBG devices, their packaging and applications.
